FinXL is looking for a bright and ambitious Associate/Junior Data Engineer to build the real-time data platforms that drive sales and trading for a leading bank.

FinXL is also able to take over existing visas and provide sponsorship for consultants.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom data parsers and tools for structured data using ANTLR.

• Implement and optimize large-scale data pipelines using Apache Spark.

• Collaborate with diverse teams including Quant, Trading, and Risk on technical delivery.

• Work within an Agile environment featuring 4-week sprints, CI/CD, and peer-reviewed code.

• Participate in third-tier production support to maintain system uptime and reliability.

• Help solve complex data challenges in finance, focusing on OTC derivatives.

• Contribute to building Java-based microservices and custom data tooling.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong Java programming skills.

• A genuine interest in ANTLR, compiler construction, or domain-specific languages.

• Hands-on exposure to Apache Spark for batch or streaming.

• A solid understanding of data engineering concepts (serialization, messaging, schema design).

• Enthusiasm for OTC derivatives and financial data systems.

• A fast learner with meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

• Comfortable with Agile practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git).
