Summary:

The government has committed to delivering quality reforms in the education sector, and FinXL requires for one of its governmental clients, business analysts to work as part of an agile delivery team to produce a SAS/PAS first Azure application that will enable the client to modernise our approach to calculating Schools Entitlements. The candidate will focus on user stories, user experience, and other requirements deliverables, but also assist with uplifting and maturing the processes and procedures in the agile space and transfer of knowledge and mentoring of existing staff.

The role requires the successful candidate to interface between the development team and business subject matter experts, and requires the full range of user story and other agile tools as well as desirable skills in analysis and specification that a Business Analyst should possess, such as assembling and validating a data dictionary amongst others.

The key responsibilities include:

  • The production of business analysis products including functional and non-functional requirements, business models, and user stories.
  • Communicating with technical and non-technical staff using effective written, verbal and visual techniques to negotiate shared outcomes.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their needs:
  • Analyse business issues and document high-level requirements
  • Facilitate meetings with business areas and technical specialists

The successful applicant would be required to have:

  • Demonstrated Industry based knowledge and experience in the delivery of complex large-scale applications and web services including:
  • Arranging workshops, liaising with Business and technical staff
  • Providing progress and status reports
  • Mentoring and supporting junior staff
  • Assist the Project Manager or Delivery Manager to schedule work for each Sprint
  • Liaison with Business teams to establish requirements
  • Cooperating with other team members to turn requirements into Features
  • Cooperating with other team members to break down Features into User stories
  • Participate in daily stand-ups or scrums
  • Participate in demonstrations of completed work
  • Contribute to reports relating to team project progress
  • Coordinating Requirements workshops with both Business and technical staff
  • Updating user stories and features in conjunction with technical staff
  • Investigation of bugs raised during testing
  • Coordinating Sprint activities with other team members
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment and experience using Agile development toolset
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use communication and negotiation skills to manage relationships in a challenging IT environment.
  • Understanding the business context of the client environment.
