Desktop Engineer
Role Type: 3-Month Initial Contract
Location: Melbourne CBD / Metropolitan Sites
Working Structure: 5 Days Onsite (No Remote/WFH)
Are you a skilled Desktop Engineer with a strong background in Windows 11 deployments and enterprise-level support? FINXL are seeking a proactive technical professional for an initial 3-month engagement to support a major Modern Desktop transformation project.
The Role
This position requires a unique blend of project-based delivery and high-level operational support. You will be a key contributor to a Windows 11 deployment, ensuring a seamless transition from project delivery to ongoing operational support frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Modern Desktop Deployment: Provide critical support for project delivery specifically focused on Windows 11 deployment initiatives.
Project to Ops Transition: Assist in transitioning project-based operational activities into established organizational frameworks and standards.
Operational & BAU Support: Manage and resolve assigned incidents and service requests in alignment with agreed service management processes.
Technical Versatility: Demonstrate the ability to pivot effectively between project delivery tasks and standard business-as-usual (BAU) support.
Service Desk Support: Provide backup support for Service Desk and Help Desk operational activities based on business demand.
Governance & Reporting: Align all activities with internal service management frameworks, policies, and standards.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely updates within ServiceNow, the Knowledge Base, and internal timesheeting systems.
About You
Onsite Commitment: You are able and willing to work onsite five (5) days per week at designated CBD or Metropolitan sites.
Windows 11 Specialist: You have proven experience supporting large-scale modern desktop rollouts.
Process Driven: You have a strong understanding of service management governance and reporting risks and issues.
Adaptable: You thrive in environments where you may be required to support various deskside or helpdesk functions depending on demand.
