The Project:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Implementation Lead to join one of the largest mainstream Banks in the Melbourne CBD.


The Role:
As at March 2018, the New Payments Platform (NPP) launched in Australia, currently 82 institutions have enabled the NPP service as a hygiene feature of their transaction accounts.  NPP enables payments in real-time.

Our client seekd to ensure customers’ expectations are met and that this feature is available in line with competitors’ offerings.


The solution will deliver real-time payment functionality via NPP.  Specifically, it will look at enabling our clients customers via mobile and assisted channels, covering:
• PayID
• Receive NPP payments
• Send NPP payments

The team as a whole is expected to deliver, using their payments experience and expertise, specifically NPP,
to provide consultation, guidance and advice on all matters relating to understanding what it would take to deploy NPP in our clients business and shall support the client to prepare requirements and risk profile.
In addition;
Assist in assessing whether the NPP platform and associated services meet the functional, technical and performance specifications (requirements) as communicated by the client.
Assist with testing, including identifying issues and root causes, trouble shooting, defection resolution to find a workable solution.
The team shall share knowledge to uplift our clients capability in NPP, including coaching of other team members.
Assist team members to complete our clients Scrum Team augmentation in Melbourne.


Specifically, the Implementation Lead will include, but not be limited to;

• Development of Implementation Approach, Framework and Standards.
• Development of Delivery Governance Forum (DGF) Charter.
• Development of Communication strategy for Dress Rehearsals and Production deployment, including communication scripts for use during deployments
• Creation of a Stakeholder matrix
• Ongoing stakeholder and relationship management with both internal leadership and vendor management.
• Development of Deployment plans (including Issue resolution strategy)
• Responsible for ensuring all Enterprise Governance requirements have been met
• Development and Management of Implementation artefacts for the releases


Broader Duties will include:
• Development of Implementation Approach, Framework and Standards.
• Development of Delivery Governance Forum (DGF) Charter.
• Development of Communication strategy for Dress Rehearsals and Production deployment, including communication scripts for use during deployments
• Creation of a Stakeholder matrix
• Ongoing stakeholder and relationship management with both internal leadership and vendor management.
• Development of Deployment plans (including Issue resolution strategy)
• Responsible for ensuring all Enterprise Governance requirements have been met i.e.
o DGF Approval to commence cutover and Go-Live
o Service Assurance Approval (Operational Readiness Requirements) has been met to proceed with implementation into Production (if required)
• Development and Management of Implementation artefacts for the releases including
o Creation and management of project schedules
o Resource availability rosters ensuring that key required resources are rostered and available across multiple shifts during Dress Rehearsals and Go-Live events
o Deployment Briefing packs - covering specific roles, responsibilities, actions and requirements for the Dress Rehearsal and Go-Live (cutover) event
o Development and maintenance of task sheets, these act as work instructions and provide the detail involved in the implementation steps
o Development and  maintenance of Plan-on-a-page documentation – detailing a timeline of actions undertaken during the Dress Rehearsal and Go-Live (cutover) event
o Development and maintenance of Deployment Readiness Criteria (DRC) registers
o Development of Process Implementation Plans (PIP)
o Development of Duty Managers Logs and Communications (SMS/Email) lists
o Management of all logistical requirements for the deployment
o Management and delivery of walk-throughs, workshops and briefing sessions
o Development and completion of BAU handover documentation
• Scheduling and running of process walk-throughs and briefing sessions with all key stakeholders, prior to Dress Rehearsals and Implementations
• Booking “Control Room” and “Issues Room” for use during the Dress Rehearsals and deployment.
• Scheduling and chairing Governance Forum meetings, to achieve key decisions throughout the development and deployment of the solution.
• Development and creation of BVT and TVT test scenarios (in conjunction with QA/SMEs)
• Management of Dress Rehearsals (practice implementations) prior to the deployment into production. Tasks are the same as for production deployment - below
• Management of the deployment of the solution into Production. This involves
o Managing the cutover schedule to ensure all required implementation tasks are completed in order and on time
o Issuing regular communications to all stakeholders as to the status of the deployment
o Calling Issue resolution meetings and DGF forums as appropriate in the event that issues or problems are experienced during the deployment
• Provision of heightened support (HyperCare) once the solution is in production.
• Development, Implementation and Management of a Deployment Change request (DRC) process.
• Implementation Plan
• Completed OOR list
• Implementation Run sheets
• Escalation process
• BVT & PVT sign-off process
