Job Description

FinXL IT Professional Services is an innovative Australian owned company providing our clients with technology enabled business solutions and consulting services. We are looking for experienced Infrastructure Engineers to join our Melbourne office. Please note this is Not a Senior role. 

 

The purpose of this role is to identify clients’ requirements and design suitable computing infrastructure solutions to suit the client application needs.

The successful candidate will need to work with the client and all internal resources to fully understand the requirements, business drivers, technical, security and operational options and constrains producing definitions for creating IT infrastructure solutions as the final output.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 year experience in complex Solution Design roles.
  • Exceptional customer & stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Private Cloud Computing, IaaS, PaaS and Application Services.
  • Multiple technical platforms and End-to-End infrastructure design experience is essential.
  • Technology and IT vendors’ knowledge:
  • Virtualisation (VMware)
  • Mid-range / Blade Servers (Cisco CS and HP)
  • Multi-tier Storage (MEC and NetApp)
  • Backup & restore infrastructure & software (EMC)
  • RAID configuration
  • Clustering technologies
  • Security
  • AD
  • DNS
  • Automated / low touch provisioning tools
  • Monitoring solutions
  • Windows 2008 / Active Directory and/or Red Hat Linux
  • Databases (oracle and MS SQL)
  • Business continuity / Disaster recovery
  • Experience with the design and architectural processes.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven technical writing skills.
  • Demonstrated clients and business analysis experience, specifically accountable for managing the process of collecting and producing comprehensive requirements for complex in IT solutions and products development.
  • Knowledge of and experience with infrastructure related technologies, methodologies and standards.
  • Substantial experience in the assessment of and change to business practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness in a large, complex business environment.
  • Excellent presentation and analysis skills.
  • Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and the ability to negotiate and persuade technical and non-technical management and staff.
  • Effective negotiation and influencing skills to resolve issues and deliver technology based solutions.
  • Facilitation or requirements workshops.
  • Proactive approach to solutions with the ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Experience with vendor or outsourced services environments.
  • Working experience within an ITIL environment and delivering to SLAs.
  • Experience working with enterprise level projects and assisting with solution definition and implementation.
  • Experience working within a support environment based on an ITILv3 framework (Change, Release, Problem, Availability, Incident, Problem, etc)
  • Experience in working with third party service providers to deliver new services and support existing systems.
  • Flexibility and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive matters within a pressured environment.
