Job Description

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Tech Lead to work for a large financial organisation based in Sydney for an initial 12 month contract plus the possibility of extension if successful in your initial term.


This role would be fully remote and you would be responsible for:

  • Provide specialised, first level support and technical assistance and assist with the monitoring of issue resolution

  • Design backup and recovery procedures and plan and undertake Disaster Recovery and testing procedures to ensure effective Disaster Recovery plans are developed, documented, tested and implemented

  • Undertake problem determination and root cause analysis to ensure permanent corrective actions are implemented appropriately

  • Plan and review proposed changes and implement where applicable to ensure successful implementation of infrastructure changes
  • Provide input into the planning of future infrastructure requirements, conduct all aspects of capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning of specific infrastructure components, liaise with software vendors to determine fixes and upgrades available and investigate and install new releases and patches to ensure the stability and availability of technology infrastructure services to the business

  • Provide technical consultation to business/technology stakeholders to support relevant infrastructure partners and other business stakeholders
  • Liaise with stakeholders to confirm and develop infrastructure requirements and recommend solutions to ensure user requirements are understood and appropriately translated into infrastructure requirements

Skills and experience:

  • Infrastructure Tech Lead experience

  • Experience in Switching and Routing - Cisco Infrastructure in particular

  • Experience in VXLAN, EVPN, VPC, Routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF and the Cisco deployment Toolset such as DCNM

  • Experience and Knowledge in scripting languages and like Python and Automation platforms such as Ansible

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues using Tools such as Wireshark and packet traces and debug analysis.

  • Experience in DNS, DHCP and IPAM - Infoblox Infrastructure

  • Experience in Network Visibility and Network troubleshooting - Gigamon Infrastructure
