The Role:

FinXL are looking to engage two Program and Project Managers to assist in the development of a Program Strategy, and support the governance of the program.

Program and Project Management Support Level 4

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Contributing to the development of policy, analysis, and advice as part of a Capability Program Strategy;
  • Supporting the development of Capability Development Documentation that will support the Capability Program Strategy, including the development of Defence Capability Assessment Program (DCAP) submissions;
  • Contributing to the establishment and conduct of a Program Steering Group and an Integrated Project Team;
  • Engaging with Program stakeholders as required;
  • Maintaining and updating program entries in Capability One, including Risk and Issues Register;
  • Maintain program files and correspondence in Objective;
  • Developing and maintaining program briefs; and
  • Provision of subject matter expertise to Defence stakeholders on an as required basis.

Assistant Project Manager Level 3

  • Contributing to the development and release of a Capability Program Strategy;
  • Supporting the development of Capability Development Documentation that will support the Capability Program Strategy, including the development of Defence Capability Assessment Program (DCAP) submissions;
  • Contributing to the establishment and conduct of a Program Steering Group and an Integrated Project Team;
  • Engaging with Program and project stakeholders as required;
  • Maintaining and updating program and project entries in Capability One, including Risk and Issues Register;
  • Maintain program and project files and correspondence in Objective (the Defence Record Management System);
  • Developing and maintaining program and project briefs for the Capability Program; and
  • Provision of subject matter expertise to Defence stakeholders on an as required basis.

Skills Required

  • Knowledge of the Defence Capability Life Cycle processes, including Capability Development Documentation, as well as Project Documentation required;
  • Hold a current Australian NEGATIVE VET 1 (SECRET) security clearance, or higher;
  • Be able to use the Defence suite of software (Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project), including Objective;
  • Have at least five years of relevant project management experience and hold an appropriate tertiary project management or equivalent qualification;
  • An understanding of the management processes for the Defence program;
  • Experience with managing ICT and / or facilities projects within Defence;
  • Experience in developing project risk assessments; and
