Job Description

The Project Coordinator, based out of the Kogarah office, currently WFH, is for the Program at Westpac which is referred to as Core Network Transformation Programme, internally and has been running since September 2019. It is a strategic Program - over a $100M budget.

Westpac's core network is housed in two data centers functioning as the spinal cord of the bank's technology infrastructure, underpinning all the customer experiences such as ATMs, branches, apps like Westpac Live, websites, core transactions, and operational systems. As a result, reliability, performance, and resilience are key in enabling business operational continuity.

Building up over many years, the Bank's core network is, in fact, 11 networks bolted together resulting in various corporate transactions, such as the 2008 St. George merger. Parts of the network are also reaching the "end of life."

As a result, the Security and Network Services Infrastructure Delivery Portfolio was established involving setting up and delivering two major program initiatives:

  • Core Network Transformation, and
  • Renewal of Managed Services contracts with major Partners.

The key focus of Project Coordination is to ensure an alignment with the overall Group Technology Strategy and in synergy with Service Portfolios, e.g. Data Centre Networks, Security Infrastructure, Customer, Corporate & Partner Networks, and Software Defined Networks.

Duties in assistance to the Program Manager across all of the above streams include:

  • Minute taking
  • Program/Project packs/reports
  • Status Reports
  • Clarity, JIRA, Confluence, Share Point
  • RAID Register
  • Resource forecast
  • Project financial
  • Excel competency formulas, pivot tables, charts
  • Event planning and organisation
  • Fast-paced, complex, and dynamic environments
