Elevate your career by leading a complex AWS data platform migration. FinXL is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our consulting team and be deployed with a leading banking and finance client on this key transformation engagement. FinXL is also able to take over existing visas and provide sponsorship for consultants.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hands-on migration of enterprise data platforms to AWS Glue.

• Provide expert recommendations and implement optimisations for AWS Redshift.

• Work in a complex environment with multiple clusters (e.g., Starburst Presto, Spark).

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives forward.

• Operate within an Agile/Scrum environment, contributing to DevOps practices.

• Support business stakeholders and colleagues with effective technical guidance.

Key Skills & Experience

• 7-10 years of enterprise experience as a Data Engineer with a platform focus.

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS data services (Redshift, Glue, EKS, S3).

• Proven experience with Big Data technologies like Spark, Hive, and Starburst Presto.

• Hands-on experience with containerisation using Kubernetes.

• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.

• A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.

• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow is highly desirable.
