Job description
Technical Lead - Dynamics 365 (BAU)
FinXL (FinXL.com.au) is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join a dedicated Case Management System (CMS) BAU team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role designed to stabilize, standardize, and improve the operational reliability of a large-scale Dynamics 365 platform.
The successful candidate will combine deep technical involvement with day-to-day coordination to ensure work moves efficiently through design, build, and release, while proactively reducing reliance on project resources.
Key Responsibilities
1. Platform Engineering & DevOps
CI/CD Leadership: Lead and improve CI/CD pipelines to ensure deployments are reliable, repeatable, and automated.
Environment & Release Standards: Drive the environment strategy and embed rigorous engineering standards across pipelines and releases.
System Resilience: Strengthen integration reliability and enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting for proactive issue detection.
Hands-on Design: Actively contribute to solution design and technical decision-making on complex backlog items.
2. Technical Leadership within BAU
Guidance & Mentorship: Provide hands-on leadership and mentor team members to build long-term capability and confidence within the BAU team.
Technical Direction: Own the technical direction for priority backlog items and support the prioritization of uplift activities.
Escalation Point: Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex platform issues.
3. Technical Delivery Coordination
Execution Focus: Support delivery leadership by coordinating day-to-day execution across teams to unblock issues and manage dependencies.
Workflow Optimization: Support the planning, sequencing, and breakdown of complex items to ensure efficient flow through the SDLC.
4. Transition & Capability Uplift
BAU Readiness: Ensure all changes are operationally ready, documented, and monitored before landing.
Service Transition: Coordinate across project and BAU teams to transition services into sustainable BAU ownership.
Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
Dynamics 365 & Power Platform: Extensive experience supporting and enhancing MS Dynamics 365 and Power Platform environments.
DevOps Mastery: Proven capability in CI/CD pipeline design, DevOps practices, and deployment automation.
Azure & Integrations: Strong experience with Azure services, integrations, and distributed systems.
Reliability: A track record of improving system observability, configuration management, and operational stability.
Leadership & Collaboration
Hands-on Lead: Proven experience providing technical leadership in complex delivery or BAU environments.
Design Authority: Ability to own and drive solution design for complex, cross-platform requirements.
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear decisions for architects and delivery leads.
Pragmatic Delivery: Comfortable operating across shared ownership models and making pragmatic decisions to unblock delivery.
