FinXL are looking for Technical Officers with a demonstrated experience with routing and switching.


  • Working in a small team that builds, deploys, maintains and carries out fault repairs on the Ministerial Communications Network (MCN) and National Telepresence System (NTS) client devices
  • Responsibility for installing and maintaining Routers and Switches, Telepresence Devices and maintaining the integrity of our secure network. You will be responsible for Layer One trouble shooting and resolution.
  • In addition to day to day operations, you will also assist the projects team with the deployment of new services and capabilities
  • Collaborate with our dedicated Service Desk and Network Operations teams to provide customer centric services to Ministers and other Senior Officials in the provision of secure communications nationally
  • The ability to meet deadlines and complete moderately complex work to a high standard.
  • Demonstrate the ability to Analyse information, work effectively with straightforward data, and show skill with a range of digital platforms.

Selection Criteria:

  • NV1 Clearance.
  • Ability to travel domestically at short notice.
  • A current unrestricted Driver's Licence.
  • Certificate IV certification or relevant skills and qualifications in Information Technology, Networking and/or Communications.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in routing and switching.
  • Able to provide ICT network fault repairs and hardware installations for the services delivered by GNSB.
  • Perform incident management functions including stakeholder liaison.
  • Assist with configuration, testing, installation and high-level troubleshooting of network systems.
  • Ability to lift (shared) object up to 25kg.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge and application of ITIL.
  • Willing to participate in an on-call roster if required.
  • Networking skills (CISCO)
  • Experience working in a service desk environment.
  • Experience working in a secure environment.
