The Role

The Cisco Wi-Fi Specialist is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and security of the customers wireless network. This role involves finalising design and architecture, hands-on configuration of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), Access Points (APs), as well as conducting wireless site surveys and providing advanced troubleshooting support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and deploy scalable and secure enterprise-grade wireless networks using Cisco best practices.
  • Perform pre- and post-implementation wireless site surveys
  • Configure and deploy Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and various Cisco Access Points
  • Analyse network performance metrics and logs to identify capacity and performance issues and propose solutions.
  • Develop and implement wireless security policies
  • Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including logical and physical network diagrams

About You

  • Proven experience in networking, with demonstrated skills specialising in Cisco wireless/Wi-Fi technologies.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) and Access Points (APs).
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting authentication/security protocols and their integration with Cisco ISE.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred - Cisco certification such as CCNP Enterprise (focusing on Wireless) or CCNA Wireless
