FinXL is partnering with a large banking client for a 12-month+ assignment based in Sydney CBD.

About the Assignment

This engagement is with the team, which is responsible for managing our client's corporate data platform. This platform is critical for a wide range of use cases, including data science, self-service analytics, and reporting. As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving the delivery of key platform capabilities using AWS and Kubernetes. You will lead architectural decisions, enhance automation, and champion security and compliance across the platform.

Key Deliverables

• Drive the delivery of critical platform capabilities using AWS and Kubernetes.
• Define technical roadmaps and lead architectural design decisions.
• Design, develop, and deploy new capabilities for the Corporate Data Hub Platform.
• Enhance automation, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring practices.
• Champion security, compliance, and risk management across the platform.

Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of enterprise experience as a Cloud / DevOps / Data Engineer.
• Expertise in AWS cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and Big Data processing technologies such as Hive, Spark, and Starburst Presto.
• Strong scripting skills, particularly with Python and Bash.
• Proven ability to build consensus and drive technical decisions.
• A proactive approach to production stability, cost management, and platform improvements.
