FinXL IT is seeking a motivated junior to mid-level Back-End Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting a major financial services organisation. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain back-end services using Java and SpringBoot

• Implement API-based integrations for modern systems

• Write efficient, maintainable code following design patterns and best practices

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy and manage applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS

• Author complex SQL queries and perform database schema design (DDL)

• Work within source control environments such as BitBucket

• Apply security best practices in software development

• Operate comfortably in Linux/Unix environments

• Support event-driven architecture using Kafka as an event streaming platform

What We're Looking For

• Solid hands-on experience with Java and SpringBoot

• Familiarity with event streaming platforms, ideally Kafka

• Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools: Docker and Kubernetes

• Good knowledge of cloud platforms, specifically AWS

• Strong SQL skills including query authoring and schema design

• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems

• Understanding of source control tools like BitBucket

• Awareness of security concepts and their application in software development

• Ability to work collaboratively in an agile environment

• Problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn
