Job description

FinXL IT Professional Services is a leading IT services organisation providing a broad range of services to assist large Australian enterprises and Government departments to deliver IT projects.

We currently looking for a Facilities Supervisor/Technician to join our market leading Telecommunications client and provide facilities and electrical support to multiple sites across Australia. This is hybrid role involving managing contractors & vendors, triaging alarms remotely, updating work orders and incident tickets - both remotely and on site as required.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience in Facilities Operations, ideally in a Telecommunications environment.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting systems: HVACs, Generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Fire Suppression Systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Networking experience including hardware configuration, troubleshooting and correction.
  • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships in a remote environment, including the ability to work over the phone and provide technical assistance.
  • Understanding of electrical circuitry and the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to author and update technical processes.
  • Strong ability to read and understand site drawings, mechanical, electrical, and component-level schematics, and procedural manuals.
  • Thorough knowledge/understanding of and adherence to safety systems and regulations.
  • Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills, excellent communication, team player and ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Trades background/work experience or relevant degree.
  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time (Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland).

Preferences (nice to have - not essential):

  • Hands-on knowledge of general facilities upkeep and code requirements (landscaping, lights, gate controllers, etc.)
  • Previous experience working with third-party contractors
  • Experience with maintenance/operations of pre-fabricated telecommunication shelters/cabinets.
  • Experience with networked monitoring and control applications.
  • Experience using EMP (equipment management program).
