FinXL is partnering with a prominent client in the Telco industry for a critical Daily Rate assignment. This engagement is based in Sydney with a Hybrid work arrangement (2-3 days on-site in North Sydney).

About the Assignment

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Identity Engineer to take ownership of designing, implementing, and maintaining secure identity and access solutions leveraging Microsoft Entra technologies. This assignment is pivotal in significantly uplifting the client's cyber resilience posture, enabling robust phishing-resistant Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and facilitating seamless federation between diverse identity platforms like Okta and Entra.

Key Deliverables

As a FinXL consultant on this assignment, your key deliverables will include:

• Leading the design, development, and implementation of Microsoft Entra ID solutions, including Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Conditional Access, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

• Developing and maintaining automation scripts for secure role assignments, ensuring strict alignment with PIM principles and preventing bypasses.

• Collaborating effectively with internal teams and external vendors to remediate identity risks and drive federation initiatives forward.

• Reviewing and managing critical service accounts, break-glass accounts, and privileged access workstations to maintain security integrity.

• Supporting the strategic transition from legacy identity platforms (e.g., ADFS) to modern, cloud-native solutions.

• Providing expert technical leadership in Entra ID architecture, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring robust governance frameworks.

• Contributing to the development of comprehensive communication plans and user support strategies for identity-related changes.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this assignment, you will bring:

• Proven development and administrative experience with Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD, with experience in hybrid identity environments being highly beneficial.

• A strong understanding of identity lifecycle management, federation protocols, and various authentication methods.

• Hands-on experience with the configuration and management of Conditional Access, MFA, and PIM.

• Familiarity with scripting, particularly PowerShell, for the automation of identity workflows.

• Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and established identity governance frameworks.

• Experience working effectively within large enterprise environments that feature complex identity structures.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Exposure to regulatory compliance frameworks such as ASD E8 and NIST.
