About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Project Manager to join our BAU IT Services team on a contract basis. This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of 50+ projects, delivering outcomes on time, within scope, and on budget. You will play a key part in standardising project management practices, establishing fit-for-purpose governance, and helping the team work more efficiently in a project-based delivery model.

This role is ideal for a hands-on, proactive project leader who is comfortable balancing strategic oversight with detailed delivery and can operate across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Review the existing IT BAU project portfolio to assess priority, resourcing, and project viability (using MOSCOW prioritisation).

• Define a project roadmap and determine the necessary resource allocations.

• Implement and standardise project governance frameworks and artefacts in collaboration with the PMO.

• Deliver, maintain and update high-quality project artefacts, reporting, and documentation.

• Build effective relationships and collaborate with key partners and vendors to manage dependencies and ensure aligned delivery.

• Proactively manage project risks and issues, driving mitigations through to resolution.

• Provide leadership and delivery support across a high-performing, technically skilled IT BAU team.

• Coach and uplift internal capability, helping shift operational thinking to structured project execution.

Key Requirements

• 7+ years' experience as a Senior Project Manager managing a broad portfolio of concurrent projects.

• Demonstrated experience in large program, project, and PMO environments across Waterfall, Agile and hybrid methodologies.

• Strong understanding of project prioritisation and governance, including experience with DevOps and delivery in complex technical environments.

• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear outcomes for business and technical audiences.

• Skilled in tools such as MS Project, JIRA, Confluence.

• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliverables with confidence and clarity.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working across multiple PMOs and technical teams.

• Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM) desirable; strong delivery track record is essential.
