ActiveViam / Java Engineer Leading banking client (consulting through FinXL)
FinXL Professional Services is a leading IT consultancy that partners with clients to bridge the gap between business needs and technology capabilities. Since 2003, we've been delivering high-value ICT services across government, finance, telecommunications, and enterprise sectors.
FinXL is seeking an ActiveViam / Java Engineer to join our consulting team and be deployed with a leading banking client on a 12 months+ contract in Sydney.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of a 2-year program implementing ActiveViam software.
- Design and engineer full stack solutions within the Market Risk domain.
- Develop high-quality code using Core and Enterprise Java.
- Build and maintain scalable microservices using Spring Boot.
- Drive automation of processes and workflows through a DevOps mindset.
- Collaborate with the team to implement Generative AI tooling and modern SDLC practices.
- Share technical knowledge and best practices within the engineering squad.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with ActiveViam.
- Extensive experience in Java engineering (Core and Enterprise).
- Proficiency in Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
- Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies.
- Experience with MS SQL database management and React front-end development.
- Interest or experience in Generative AI tools like GitHub Copilot and MCP.
Engagement Details
- 12 months+ contract with a leading banking client.
- Hybrid working model with 3 days/ week in the office in Sydney CBD.
- This role is also open to Sydney based candidates with existing work visa (e.g. 482).
