Job description
Network Engineer | Cisco ACI (6-Month Contract)
Location: Melbourne (Hybrid/On-site)
Term: 6-Month Engagement (Commencing January 2026)
The Opportunity
FinXL is seeking a high-performing Network Engineer with deep expertise in Cisco ACI to join a critical delivery team. Working as a key resource for one of Australia's largest Telecommunications Enterprise providers, you will lead the technical charge on a high-visibility Data Centre Upgrade for a major national enterprise client.
This is a "boots on the ground" role where design meets delivery. You will be responsible for the integrity of a complex, large-scale network environment, ensuring seamless connectivity and high-performance outcomes.
The Role
As a Cisco ACI Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert on-site, providing both high-level design insights and hands-on configuration.
ACI Delivery: Lead the deployment, configuration, and optimization of Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) within a large-scale Data Centre environment.
Design & Implementation: Translate complex business requirements into robust technical designs and execute them with precision.
Network Modernization: Support a massive-scale infrastructure upgrade, ensuring minimal disruption to business-critical services.
Change Management: Execute complex network changes. Please note: This role involves occasional after-hours work to support mission-critical maintenance windows and environment changes.
What You Bring
To be successful in this role, you must be a technical heavyweight with a proven track record in enterprise-grade environments.
Cisco ACI Mastery: Advanced, hands-on experience with Cisco ACI is mandatory. You should be comfortable with fabric discovery, APIC management, and policy-driven networking.
Infrastructure Background: Strong experience in Data Centre upgrades, including routing/switching (Nexus), security integration, and SDN.
Telco/Enterprise Exposure: Prior experience working within a Tier-1 Telco or supporting large enterprise clients is highly regarded.
Adaptability: A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently to solve complex architectural challenges.
Why FinXL?
FinXL IT Professional Services is an established, innovative Australian company providing technology services and solutions to Tier-1 clients across Government and Blue-Chip corporate sectors. By joining this project, you will be at the forefront of a major infrastructure milestone, working within a high-tempo, professional environment.
