Procurement Specialist | 3-Month Contract
FinXL IT Professional Services is partnering with a leading investment management organization to appoint a Procurement Specialist for their Market Data team. This is a critical role focused on the governance, commercial management, and strategic oversight of third-party data providers that support global Investment, Finance, and Operations teams.
The Opportunity
Location: Melbourne.
Duration: 3-Month Contract.
The Role
As a key member of the Data Services department, you will bridge the gap between complex investment data requirements and third-party service delivery. You will oversee a diverse portfolio of market data vendors, ensuring all services are fit-for-purpose, compliant, and cost-effective.
Core Responsibilities
Relationship & Stakeholder Management: Support strategic partnerships with market data vendors and collaborate closely with senior internal stakeholders to provide effective data solutions.
Service & Compliance Oversight: Track SLAs and vendor data quality metrics while ensuring strict compliance with license agreements and commercial terms.
Vendor Operations: Coordinate vendor-led initiatives, manage system changes, and maintain a comprehensive market data inventory within the FITS System.
Governance & Risk: Manage third-party risks in accordance with established frameworks and support market data audits as required.
Financial Management: Acquire new data sources, perform cost/benefit analyses on existing providers, and implement new market data requirements.
About You
Experience: Minimum of 9 years in investment operations within the investment management, superannuation, or custodian sectors.
Education: Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, or a related industry discipline.
Skills: Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, particularly when navigating difficult problems or complex commercial situations.
Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of product and service requirements within the investment industry; middle-office experience is highly preferred.
Attributes: A self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously and takes direct ownership of tasks within a collaborative team environment.
