Security Engineer - Cloud, DevSecOps, FortiPAM, Akamai | Join FinXL's Security Practice

As a FinXL Security Engineer, you will be embedded within a major enterprise program, playing a key role in strengthening and scaling security operations capabilities. In this role, you'll work across a range of high-impact initiatives including FortiPAM deployment, CDN and WAF implementation (e.g. Akamai), and cloud security uplift across AWS and Azure environments. You'll also contribute to identity access initiatives, such as improving secure administration and onboarding processes. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll help design, implement, and maintain secure systems and practices aligned with best-practice frameworks and enterprise security goals.

This is a 12-month contract, with strong potential for extension.

Role Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise security solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Lead security uplift initiatives across AWS and Azure, including identity and access management enhancements.
• Deploy and support CDN and WAF solutions such as Akamai, ensuring robust protection for critical applications.
• Drive the implementation and operations of Fortinet's Privileged Access Management (FortiPAM) solution.
• Enhance end-user compute security baselines, secure onboarding workflows, and privileged admin processes.
• Assist with remediation activities identified by CNAPP tools (e.g., Orca Security), supporting DevSecOps alignment.
• Maintain high-quality documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures, aligned with ISO 27001 and the Essential Eight (E8) framework.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience working with Fortinet, Zscaler, or Akamai platforms in enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Entra, Intune, Exchange, and Mimecast.
• Practical scripting ability with PowerShell or Python.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Terraform.
• Solid understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, and modern web application architectures.
• Exposure to security tooling such as CrowdStrike, Orca Security, AssetNote, or SUMO Logic is highly regarded.
