FinXL IT is seeking a Senior Business Analyst/Solution Architect to join our consulting team and be deployed with a leading Government client on a key transformation engagement. This role requires a hybrid professional to evaluate the client's critical server and NAS infrastructure and recommend a future-state replacement strategy (Cloud, On-Premises, or Hybrid) aligned with QGEA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Current State Assessment: Document all existing server and NAS services and review current IT processes.

  • Future State Evaluation & Design: Define and evaluate future options, designing solution architectures for high data throughput and resilience.

  • QGEA Compliance: Ensure all future designs and recommendations strictly comply with Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture standards.

  • Cost & Risk Analysis: Deliver a detailed Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for all options (CAPEX/OPEX), including disaster resilience planning.

  • Create comprehensive current-state documentation and formal technical process documentation.

  • Manage stakeholders effectively, collaborating with small technical teams and high-level management.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience as a hybrid Senior Business Analyst and Solution Architect in the Government sector.

  • Deep knowledge of Enterprise IT infrastructure design (server, storage NAS/SAN, network solutions).

  • Proven experience with large-scale data-intensive environments requiring high data throughput and reliability.

  • Experience evaluating and designing solutions leveraging major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Mandatory experience in projects requiring strict adherence to QGEA standards.

  • Expertise in Financial Modelling (TCO), including capital and operational costing.

  • Demonstrated experience in disaster resilience and severe weather operational requirements.
