FinXL is seeking a Finance Business Analyst to join our consulting team and be deployed with a leading Banking client on a 12 months contract in Sydney CBD.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert for the General Ledger system, ensuring data integrity
• Define and deliver improvements across financial data and reporting infrastructure
• Utilise data analysis skills (e.g., SQL, Python) to investigate data quality issues
• Identify bottlenecks and control weaknesses in existing finance processes
• Recommend and implement automated solutions for financial reporting and month-end close
• Collaborate with Technology and Product Control to translate requirements into specifications
• Lead or participate in finance transformation projects and system upgrades

Key Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience within a large commercial or investment bank
• Proven, hands-on experience working directly with large-scale General Ledger (GL) systems
• Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification or similar qualification preferred
• Strong understanding of journal entry mechanics and chart of accounts mapping
• Demonstrated ability to query and analyze large datasets using SQL
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

Engagement Details

• 12 months contract through FinXL with a banking client
• Hybrid working with office in Sydney CBD
