FinXL IT is seeking a security-focused Systems Administrator to join our consulting team and be deployed with a leading insurance client in Sydney. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of vulnerability remediation and the security posture of both end-user devices and server environments.
Responsibilities
Patch Management: Manage Windows endpoint patching via Microsoft Intune and execute manual/automated server patching using Azure Update Manager.
Network & Security: Administer Meraki SD-WAN, including firewall rules, security policies, and site connectivity.
Vulnerability Remediation: Own the remediation lifecycle, prioritising risks based on EDR/XDR or Defender scan results.
Azure Administration: Configure Azure Firewall, Traffic Manager, and load balancing to support application resiliency.
Operational Support: Provide day-to-day IT support, troubleshooting hardware/software issues for end-users.
Risk Management: Proactively identify and report risks to improve platform stability and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a System Administrator or Infrastructure role with a strong security focus.
- A background in the insurance industry is ideal.
Expertise in patching Windows endpoints using Microsoft Intune and update rings.
Hands-on experience with Meraki SD-WAN and Azure networking services (Firewall Manager, NAT policies).
Technical proficiency in Azure Traffic Manager, including back-end pools and health probes.
Ability to manage vulnerability lifecycles and track remediation within defined SLAs.
Desirable: PowerShell scripting for automation and familiarity with EntraID, Conditional Access, and MFA.
